Sniffer dogs to protect wildlife zones in India
The dogs have been trained for sniffing out wildlife products such as tiger and leopard bones and skins, elephant ivory and bear bile, and also will be able to detect other wildlife contraband in the reserves.
None of the proposals brought before NBWL at its 34th meeting on June 2, chaired by Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, was rejected. Only four proposals were deferred; site visit was asked in one case; and one was referred back to the state wildlife board.
